Bahasa Indonesia maupun Inggris sama-sama diterima.

Nama Anda tetap tercantum

Setiap tulisan memuat kolom
author

Fork osgeoid/osgeoid.github.io

Buat
id/posts/YYYY-MM-DD-judul-anda/index.qmd

Isi front matter —
title
,
description
,
author
,
date
,
categories

Mengapa memakai alur kerja git

Kami menantikan tulisan Anda.

Write for osgeo.id: the chapter site is now open to contributors

The OSGeo Indonesia website now has a News section, and it is open to anyone in the community.

Until now the site was a set of static pages that only a couple of people edited. That works for pages like About and Contact, which rarely change, but it left nowhere to put the things the community actually produces — workshop write-ups, tutorials, notes from a mapping day, a report from a conference someone attended.

What you can write

Anything useful to the Indonesian open source geospatial community:

Event reports — what happened at a meetup, workshop, or mapathon

Tutorials — how you solved something in QGIS, PostGIS, GeoServer, GRASS

Project updates — progress on something you are building or mapping

Conference notes — takeaways from FOSS4G or FOSS4G Asia

Community news — a new local group, a university adopting open source GIS

English or Bahasa Indonesia are both fine. Write in whichever you think of first — a good post in one language beats a hesitant one in two.

You keep the credit

Every post carries an
author
field, and your name appears:

on the post itself, under the title

on the News listing, next to the date

in the repository’s commit history, permanently attached to your GitHub account

Every page on this site also has Edit this page, View source, and Report an issue links in the sidebar. Those point at the exact file on GitHub, so anyone reading can see who wrote a page, who changed it, and what each change was. Nothing here is anonymous, and nothing is hidden.

How to submit

The full walkthrough is in CONTRIBUTING.md, but the short version:

Fork osgeoid/osgeoid.github.io

Create
posts/YYYY-MM-DD-your-title/index.qmd

Fill in the front matter —
title
,
description
,
author
,
date
,
categories

Write the post in Markdown, put any images alongside it in the same folder

Open a pull request

If git is unfamiliar, that is genuinely fine. Write the post in whatever you normally use and send it to the mailing list or the Telegram group — someone will help you get it in, and the byline still goes to you.

Why bother with the git workflow

Because it makes authorship real rather than declared. The commit history is the record: it shows who wrote what, when, and what changed since. That is the same reason open source geospatial projects work the way they do, and it seems right that the chapter’s own site works that way too.

Looking forward to reading what you write.
